Multiple fires, many crashes, and even a mad cow Monday in Attala

Kosciusko Police were called to a minor two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of CVS at 11:08 a.m. on Monday, December 19.  No one was injured.

Kosciusko Police responded to another minor two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Holt’s Body Shop at 2:03 p.m.  No one was injured.

Attala County Fire Department and McCool volunteers were dispatched to a grass fire on Attala Rd. 2120 at 2:30 p.m.  ACFD Chief, Tim Cox says the blaze started due to the wind rekindling a burn pile from the day before.  The fire started burning a small storage building but caused no significant damage.  Firefighters quickly contained the flames.

Attala County Fire Department was called to another grass fire on Hwy 14 W near Attala Rd. 4022 at 2:48 p.m.  Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the blaze.

Kosciusko Police worked at two-vehicle crash on W Adams St. at 3:03 p.m.  No one was injured.

Attala Deputies were alerted to a “mad cow” that got out on Attala Rd. 2247 at 4 p.m.  Deputies attempted to wrangle the beast, but it ran deep into the woods.

Kosciusko Police were called to Hwy 12 E near Sonic for yet another minor two-vehicle crash at 4:23 p.m.  No injuries were reported.

Attala County Fire Department was dispatched to a woods fire on Hwy 19 S near Attala Rd. 1137 just before 11 p.m.  Firefighters quickly got the fire contained and extinguished.
