Multiple Wrecks Wednesday in Attala

On Wednesday, May 21 round 7:20 a.m., a man reportedly fell asleep while driving on Highway 19 near Lobutcha and struck a bridge railing. Attala County Deputies, the Attala County Fire Department, and Zama Volunteers responded to the scene. The driver was uninjured, and the vehicle was cleared from the roadway.

At 11:20 a.m., emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 35 near the River Bridge Store and Yockanookany bridge. No injuries were reported.

Just before 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Attala Road 2140.

At 9:30 p.m., a vehicle struck a fallen tree on Highway 35 near Attala Road 1016. No injuries were reported in that incident either.
