A crash involving a Mississippi Highway Patrol vehicle occurred Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Attala Road 2247 (Old Trace Road) and Attala Road 3122. Attala Deputies, Attala Firefighters, and EMS were called to the scene just before 3:30 p.m.
The MHP trooper was reportedly in pursuit when another vehicle pulled out in front of the patrol unit, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the civilian vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated by the Attala County Fire Department. The driver reportedly could not feel the left side of their body and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The vehicle that was said to be pursued by MHP apparently left the area and was not immediately located. The crash remains under investigation.
