A crash involving a Mississippi Highway Patrol vehicle occurred Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Attala Road 2247 (Old Trace Road) and Attala Road 3122. Attala Deputies, Attala Firefighters, and EMS were called to the scene just before 3:30 p.m.
The MHP trooper was reportedly in pursuit when another vehicle pulled out in front of the patrol unit, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the civilian vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated by the Attala County Fire Department. The driver reportedly could not feel the left side of their body and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The vehicle that was said to be pursued by MHP apparently left the area and was not immediately located. The crash remains under investigation.

The logical thing would have been to just take his tag number and let him go. The tag would have led you straight to his house where he would have been and then you could have got him for petty theft and then took him to court and then got your money back. But no you got to to Rick a $40,000 highway patrol car. Then you got to disrupt a family that was not planning on reckon all for a pack of cigarettes. How much did that pack of cigarettes really cost? We giving too much credit to these d*** lawmen

June 19, 2026 at 5:24 PMThe MHP followed the guy at least 5 miles at a low rate of speed, and he failed to stop. The other one ran a stop sign at high speed, pulling right out in front of the officer. Thankfully, a civilian with a car full of babies wasn’t where the patrol car was. Of course, no one takes accountability; it’s someone else’s fault when all he had to do was stop!

June 19, 2026 at 7:00 PMFor those who want to make a**umptions, there has been no proof of the officer speeding, a pursuit is not always “high speed” a pursuit simply means a subject is not stopping and the officer is pursuing them. Instead of immediately blaming officers maybe think that something else may have happened causing the collision. You never know the full story until it comes out so don’t make a**umptions!
