A serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a side-by-side left several people injured Friday night in Sallis.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., Attala County firefighters, deputies, EMS, and MHP were dispatched to a report of a vehicle versus side-by-side crash on Highway 12 in front of Dollar General in Sallis.
The side-by-side was reportedly attempting to cross Highway 12 from Attala Road 4213 when it was struck by a vehicle traveling the highway.
The impact reportedly ejected all occupants of the side-by-side. Three people were airlifted from the scene, and two others were transported by ambulance to hospitals for treatment.
First responders say the driver of the side-by-side appeared to have suffered the most critical injuries and was reportedly the first patient flown for treatment.
Authorities say there were either four or five passengers in the side-by-side at the time of the crash. The status of all patients is unknown at this time. The crash is under investigation.
