Flu activity in Mississippi has dipped a bit.  The State Health Department says the latest numbers show that 5.9 per cent of patients visiting their doctors across Mississippi reported flu-like symptoms.  That compares with 6.2 per cent the previous week.  And while the statewide flu rate was down, the percentage of cases  in the public health district which includes Attala County was up to almost 30 per cent.  For the health district which includes Leake and Neshoba counties, the Health Department says no update was available, but that part of the state, in the previous report, had the second-highest flu rate in Mississippi, at 14.5 per cent.   Overall, the Health Department says the highest percentage of flu cases has been among people between the ages of 5 and 24.
