As Kosciusko prepares for the return of football season, the city has approved temporary street closures around the square for upcoming events.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Aldermen approved closing Madison and Jefferson streets around the square starting at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, for the annual “Meet the Whippets” event ahead of the high school’s regular season opener.
The city also set details for the Kosciusko High School Homecoming Parade, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15. Floats will line up on Tipton Street, enter and circle the square, and exit via Madison Street before parking along Monroe Street for evening festivities on the square.
