At approximately 11:37 a.m., Attala County Deputies performed a traffic stop on West Jefferson Street. Deputies smelled marijuana in the vehicle and asked the driver repeatedly to step out of the vehicle, which they refused. It was reported that the driver then sped off, running from deputies. The driver led deputies on a high-speed chase across Highway 12 and onto Youth Center Road. Deputies lost site of the vehicle on Youth Center Road.
