As the Labor Day holiday gets underway, the local area will be back under a heat advisory but the worst is yet to come. Today’s heat index will range from 105 in Kosciusko, Carthage and Philadelphia to 107 in Durant. Saturday, it bumps up to 106 in Kosciusko and Carthage and 108 in Durant. The forecast for Sunday is a heat index up to 110 areawide.
