PHILADELPHIA, Miss.– Persistent winds associated with Hurricane Isaias Saturday cause some damage in central Mississippi. Most of that was damage done to trees and by trees that came down.
One of those trees was on Arrowhead Dr. in Kosciusko just after 2 p.m., with power lines involved.
Shortly after that another tree was reported down in the county on Rd. 5216. That tree was reported to have brought down a power line with it. Another tree down with power lines was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Attala Rd. 4202. That also caused a fire.
At 3:30 p.m. Attala County volunteers were also fighting fires on Attala Rd. 5212 and 5131, in which a tree came down on a power line.
It was around the same timne that several trees were reported down in Neshoba County. One was on Hwy. 21 where a tree fell across a power line and started a fire. Another tree fell on Hwy. 16 near Ovabla Baptist Church. Shrtly after the report of the tree down, a car was also reported to have hit the tree. No one was reported hurt.
A tree was also reported down in Philadelphia on Lewis Ave.
