A shooting was reported at 12:27 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, at a residence on Attala Rd. 1137/Horne Rd.
According to authorities, a young male was shot in the chest by another male at the residence, who immediately fled the scene. The shooter has not been named at this time.
Attala Deputies and EMS were dispatched. The victim was initially transported by personal vehicle but was intercepted by an ambulance at Parkway Pure on S. Huntington St.
First responders stabilized the victim and transported him to Baptist Attala, where he was later flown to another hospital. The victim is reported to be in stable condition.
Deputies searched the residence, areas near the residence, and other locations in the county where the shooter is known to frequent.
At this time, the shooter has not been apprehended, and the Attala County Sheriff’s Office continues to work to locate the suspect.
