KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–a large fire that was burning Saturday evening in Attala County was determined to have been a controled burn.
The fire was called in at first as a house fire, then as a woods fire about 9:20 p.m. It was on Hwy. 43 north.
Before firefighters arrived it was determined that it may have been a controled burn, with a landowner burning on the propert on purpose. When firefighters got to the scene they confirmed it was a large brush and debris pile, making an impressive display.
But, it was a controled burn and was not extinguished.
