KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Power was knocked out in the same area of Kosciusko that experienced a power outage on a Sunday morning in December.
The outage was first reported shortly before 11 Sunday morning in the area of Walmart and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Though Entergy did not provide a reason for the outage, police radio communication sindicated the cause was a downed power line.
It was unclear how that happened.
Kosciusko Police were dispatched to help with traffic control for some of the red lights for the duration of the outage.
The lights were reported back on shortly before 12:30 p.m.

January 20, 2026 at 7:23 PMWe had a blown transformer in front of the AT&T building on East Jefferson at 7am Sunday morning. I live in MeadowRidge and our lights did not come back on until 3:30-4:00 pm. We are on Entergy out here and we often have power outages and power surges. They are not timely in getting the problem fixed and we never really find out why they are out. It is so aggravating. I wish KWL was our provider as they get the job done quickly!
