First responders were dispatched to several calls on Wednesday, including several downed trees and shut down traffic lights throughout the day.
At around 5:50 AM, the fire department was dispatched to a skidder fire on Attala Roads 4167 and 4216 that spread across about half an acre of woods.
At around 8:00 AM, first responders were called to a minor accident in the Kosciusko Junior High parking lot. No injuries were reported.
A dead tree on Attala Rd 4126 was struck by lightning and caught fire at about 4:00 PM. It caught nearby grass and trees on fire and threatened a structure about 100 feet away.
At about 10:30 PM, first responders were notified of a sparking power line on Maple St. Kosciusko Water and Lights were contacted and were able to solve the issue.
A woods fire started on Attala Rd 3102 near the Carmack Fire Department at about 11:00 PM.
