Community invited to service celebrating the life of beloved Teacher Jamie Sample

The family of Jamie Elizabeth Sample (Edwards), 67, invites friends, former students, and community members to a Celebration of Life in her honor at the Frank B. Branch Coliseum on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Sample dedicated her life to education, serving 22 years in the Kosciusko Public School System as a beloved biology teacher. She later continued teaching biology at the Goodman and Ridgeland campuses of Holmes Community College.

Known for her patience, intelligence, and unwavering encouragement, she touched the lives of countless students, inspiring a love of learning and curiosity about the natural world.

A proud graduate of Clewiston High School and Delta State University, and holder of a Master of Science in Education from Mississippi State University, Mrs. Sample combined her passion for science with a deep faith, reminding her students that the beauty and complexity of the natural world reflected the hand of our Creator.

Her former students and colleagues are welcome to join the family in celebrating her remarkable life, sharing memories, and paying respects to a teacher whose impact will be remembered for generations.

    Mrs. Sample taught my grandson Dorwin Jenkins in high school and Holmes. We loved her and send prayers for her family.
