Attala County Fire Department and Sallis Volunteers responded to a woods fire on Attala Road 4121 at approximately 2:12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9.
A logging crew that was clearing land in the area used a dozer to plow a fire lane and extinguish the blaze before firefighters arrived.
It was later discovered that a downed powerline ignited the fire.
