Former Holmes Community College offensive lineman Markel Bell is officially headed to the NFL after being selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bell was taken 68th overall by the Eagles, a move that came earlier than many projections had expected.

At Miami, Bell continued his development as an offensive tackle, helping lead the Hurricanes to an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

The 6-foot-9 lineman entered the draft as a developmental offensive tackle prospect, with analysts pointing to his upside as a long-term piece along an NFL offensive line.
