The Mississippi House voted 107-7 Thursday to allow Kosciusko aldermen to put a restaurant tax referendum on the ballot. If 60 per cent of the voters approve it, the city could charge a two per cent tax on prepared food and beverages with the revenue going toward tourism promotion and parks and recreation. The bill now goes to the Senate.
