Kosciusko quarterback Caiden Wade has announced a verbal commitment to continue his football career at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Wade made the announcement on his Instagram profile (@iamcw1_) Thursday afternoon, captioning the post “SMTT🦅.”
Wade, a junior, helped lead the Whippets to the MHSAA Class 4A State Championship game during the 2025 season, marking one of the program’s deepest playoff runs in recent years.
During the 2025 season, Wade threw for 2,402 passing yards and 22 touchdowns while adding 407 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns on the ground. He was also selected as the District 4-4A Offensive MVP.
For his career, Wade has totaled 3,820 passing yards and 31 touchdown passes, averaging 141.5 yards per game. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound quarterback has also shown versatility with his ability to extend plays and contribute in the run game.
Wade chose Southern Miss over other Division I offers from Arkansas State University and Mississippi Valley State University.
