Kosciusko Schools cancel three bus routes Monday due to ongoing manhunt

KOSCIUSKO, Miss. — The Kosciusko School District has announced the cancellation of three bus routes Monday morning due to the ongoing manhunt connected to Sunday’s deadly shooting in Attala County.

School officials said the decision was made out of concern for student safety.

According to district officials, the following bus routes will not run Monday morning:

  • Mr. Culpepper — Route 65-03
  • Mrs. Jamison — Route 81-14
  • Mrs. Ford — Route 78-12

Parents of students who normally ride these routes are being asked to bring their children to school if possible.

If parents are unable to provide transportation, they are asked to call their child’s school office Monday morning.

School officials thanked parents for their understanding, stating that the safety of students and staff remains their top priority.

The route cancellations come as law enforcement continues searching for a suspect in connection with Sunday’s shooting that left two people dead in Attala County.
