Officers Lenora Nash and Darrin Fleming have successfully graduated from Crisis Intervention Training (CIT).

The specialized program included classroom instruction and hands-on role-playing scenarios designed to prepare officers to recognize and appropriately respond to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
The training equips law enforcement with the skills and knowledge needed to handle sensitive situations with de-escalation techniques and enhanced awareness.
Kosciusko Police Chief Greg Collins says he’s working on having the entire department complete the training. “Our goal is for every member of the department to be trained so that KPD will be well equipped and ready to help in mental health crisis situations,” Collins said.
