Mississippi Blood Services is urging local residents to help replenish the area’s blood supply during a mobile blood drive scheduled at the Kosciusko Walmart Friday, June 5, 2026.
The drive will take place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Walmart in Kosciusko. Walk-ins are welcome, and all donors will receive a special thank-you gift at the time of donation.
This event is part of a series of East Mississippi mobile blood drives taking place during the first week of June. Additional nearby dates include:
- June 3 – First Southern Bank, Columbia (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- June 4 – Neshoba General Hospital, Philadelphia (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- June 5 – Walmart, Newton (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
- June 7 – Walmart, Meridian (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
- June 8 – King’s Daughters Hospital, Brookhaven (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Mississippi Blood Services issued the call for donors on June 2, noting that blood donations typically decline during the summer months because of changing school schedules, family vacations, and disrupted routines.
At the same time, demand for blood remains steady—and can even increase—due to accidents, emergencies, and ongoing medical treatments.
“Be a hero in your community,” organizers said, emphasizing that every donation helps support local hospitals and patients across the state.
