Kosciusko sports fans will have plenty to cheer for this weekend, as multiple Whippet teams are set to compete in a packed schedule highlighted by postseason soccer and a preseason baseball jamboree.
The spotlight will be on Whippet Stadium, where both the Kosciusko High School girls and boys soccer teams will host first-round playoff matches on Saturday.
The Lady Whippets will kick off the day at 1:00 p.m., taking on Senatobia in a playoff showdown. Following that match, the Whippet boys will hit the field at 3:00 p.m. to face South Pontotoc, also in first-round playoff action.
Just steps away, the Whippet baseball team will host a preseason jamboree beginning at 10:00 a.m. Along with Kosciusko, Neshoba Central and Pearl will also participate, giving fans a full day of action in one convenient location.
While much of the attention will be on the home events, several Whippet teams will also be on the road.
Friday night, the girls and boys basketball teams will travel to Greenwood for their final regular-season game, wrapping up district play ahead of postseason action.
Meanwhile, the Lady Whippet softball team will head to Pisgah High School Saturday for a preseason jamboree against Pisgah and Choctaw Central.
