The potential for heavy rain and strong storms returns to this part of central Mississippi on Monday. The National Weather Service has posted a Level-1 “marginal” risk of isolated severe storms areawide with damaging wind gusts possible during the afternoon and evening hours. Rainfall amounts could range from one to three inches with the heaviest accumulations forecast for the northern part of the local area including northern Holmes, Carroll, Montgomery and Choctaw counties.
