Some local hospitals and other health care providers are getting a share of more than $104 million in federal money which the state is distributing.
The awards through the Mississippi Rural Health Transformation Program include more than $344,000 to East Central Mississippi Health Care in Leake County for remote monitoring of patients with hypertension and other chronic conditions.
Choctaw Regional Medical Center in Choctaw County will get about $46,000 to manage threat detection and response including an independent security risk assessment. Choctaw Regional will also receive $394,000 for telehealth access points.
In Montgomery County, Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital has been awarded more than $263,000 to replace the nurse call system with a modernized system and real-time location services platform.
Neshoba General Hospital will get $255,000 to implement a unified enterprise data warehouse and modern decision support platform.
And the Winston County Medical Foundation will receive four awards, including $369,000 to modernize technology supporting three rural clinics and a skilled nursing facility, more than $1 million to modernize hospital diagnostic and patient monitoring services, $2 million for a new enterprise clinical information system and almost $241,000 to expand patient transportation services.
