UPDATE: 25-year-old Semyia Jones has been arrested for the shooting death of her husband, 31-year-old Markquarius Jones.
Mr. Jones was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala by Attala County Coroner Sam Bell.
Semyia Jones has been charged with murder and was booked into the Leake County Correctional Facility with a bond set at $1 million.
A fatal shooting occurred this afternoon at approximately 1 p.m. at Kangaroo Crossing on Highway 12.
Law enforcement responded to the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala Emergency Department, where both the gunshot victim and the alleged shooter were present.
The incident is believed to have resulted from a domestic dispute.
The victim succumbed to their injuries while at the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the situation.
