On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, an Attala County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments involving cases from various agencies. Among these was the case of 46-year-old Tracy Weaver, who was shot and killed inside their home on August 28, 2023.
Mrs. Weaver’s husband and former Attala County Superintendent, Bryan Weaver (49), has been indicted on the charge of 1st Degree Murder. Bryan Weaver was taken into custody on the morning of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and transported to the Leake County Correctional Facility. His bond has been set at $200,000.
Sheriff Curtis Pope shared details about the investigation with Breezy News, stating, “We have worked on this case since the beginning of my term as sheriff, collecting evidence and information, along with analysis from the Mississippi State Crime Lab and other sources.”
Sheriff Pope also expressed his gratitude to those involved in the investigation: “I would like to commend our deputies, Sergeant Blake Burns and Sergeant Jaroderick Teague, who were on the scene the date of the incident, and Investigator Scott Chunn, who has worked tirelessly on this case since the night of the incident. Also thanks to all the rest of our departmental staff, MBI, MCL, MOHS Fusion Center, and the District Attorney’s Office for their assistance.”

July 7, 2025 at 12:45 PMI was so shocked!! But Tracey, girl your murder has been solved. Most of us already knew this- but of course they have to connect the dots and have FOR SURE evidence.. But the low bond is cruelty to the family again!!!! Justice system please don’t fail us again.
