Erving faces charges of possession of a machine gun conversion device, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.

Machine gun conversion devices, which modify firearms to function as fully automatic weapons, became illegal in the state of Mississippi on July 1, 2024. Several guns were recovered during the traffic stop, and some had been modified with machine gun conversion devices.

Both men are currently being held at the Leake County Correctional Facility with no bond. Erving was out on bond for a capital murder charge related to the death of a Gulf Coast man that occurred in Holmes County.

According to authorities, that bond has been revoked. *edited 3/4/2025*

Lock them up forever throw away the key this is a threat to others, carry these firearms around. Need more traffic stops, this don’t make no sense, throw away the jail key on both of them! A lot of them that are affiliated and drug dealers either all over town in traffic racing up and down streets with guns and drugs it has gotten out of control in Kosciusko , needs more roadblocks, great job officer Nash!

No one called anyone a criminal. It mentioned the police officers are working to deter “criminal” activity.
