Students from the Kosciusko-Attala Career Technical Center recently spent time giving back to the community by volunteering at Helping Hands, a local organization dedicated to supporting families in need.
During their visit, students assisted with a variety of important tasks to help the organization serve others more efficiently. They prepared food donations for distribution, ensuring items were organized and ready for community members to pick up. In addition, students worked together to sort incoming donations, helping streamline the process for volunteers and staff.
The experience provided students with an opportunity to step outside the classroom and make a meaningful impact. Beyond learning technical and career skills, KACTC emphasizes the importance of community involvement and service.
Students shared that they enjoyed the chance to give back and be part of something that directly benefits others in Kosciusko and Attala County. The hands-on volunteer work also helped build teamwork, responsibility, and a greater appreciation for community support systems.
KACTC staff noted that service projects like this are an important part of student development, encouraging leadership and compassion.
The group’s efforts at Helping Hands highlight the positive role students can play in strengthening their community—one act of service at a time.
